Govt makes TB treatment free

JAMALPUR, Dec 06 (BSS): Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mustakim Al today said the government has made Tuberculosis (TB) treatment free at all government hospitals.
He said if anyone feels some syndromes like mild fever for long time, weight loss, reluctance to eat, weakness, cough for two weeks can avail free test in government hospitals.
After test in case of diagnosing tuberculosis he or she will get free treatment, he added.
The Deputy Civil Surgeon said while exchanging views with local journalists at a hotel in the district town.
Tuberculosis is a curable disease, he said, adding that affected people could take medicine regularly for a certain period.
National Anti Tuberculosis Association of Bangladesh (NATAB) of the district unit arranged the meeting.
Chest Disease Specialist Dr Ahmad Ali Akandh and Secretary of Jamalpur press club Dulal Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
