Govt mulls appointing administrators for Zilla Parishads

The government is contemplating to appoint administrators for zilla parishads until elections to this local body is held. Sources said the LGRD Ministry has recently sought legal opinion from the Law Ministry about the appointment of Zilla Parishad Administrators in absence of the elected Zilla Parishad. The Law Ministry referred the matter to the office of the Attorney General (AG). — UNB
