\\\'Govt must answer about Elias\\\' disappearance\\\'
Saturday, 20 December 2014
Tahsina Rushdir Luna, wife of missing BNP leader M Elias Ali, has urged the people of the country including the party leaders and activists, to unite and launch a vigorous movement to bring the BNP’s joint organising secretary back. Claiming that Elias Ali has been a victim of enforced disappearances, Tahsina said the government must answer about his disappearances. She came up with the demand while speaking as the chief guest at the biannual conference of Sylhet’s Bishwanath Upazila unit of BNP on Friday afternoon. Tahsina said ‘People want to know the reason behind the forced disappearances. The government must respond over the issue.’ She said ‘I have come here for justice, not for becoming a leader. Elias is the source of inspiration for people. So all need to be united to bring back the missing leader through vigorous movement.’ The conference was held for the first time since the BNP leader along with his driver had gone missing in Dhaka on April 18, 2012, according to a news agency.
