Govt obstructing BNP\\\'s Comilla rally: Rizvi
Friday, 28 November 2014
BNP on Friday accused the government of creating obstacles towards holding the party-led 20-party’s public rally in Comilla scheduled to be held on Saturday. 'The government is carrying out various undemocratic acts ahead of Saturday's rally, alleged BNP's joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. 'The local administration and the ruling party men are intimidating our leaders and activists and removing our posters and banners and creating barriers to erecting arches in different parts of Comilla district, including Daudkandi and Chandina,’ said Rizvi while addressing a press briefing at the party’s central office in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will address the rally as the chief guest. Rizvi claimed that huge enthusiasm has been created among the people of Comilla and its adjoining areas over the rally. He also said the rally will turn into a human sea with spontaneous participation of tens of thousands of people braving all obstacles, according to a news agency.
