GOPALGANJ, Nov 8 (bdnews24.com): A case has been filed over the latest incident of hooliganism by ruling party activists at the Youth Development Centre in Gopalganj.
The miscreants Saturday vandalised the office because their preferred candidates were not chosen for apprenticeship.
Bangladesh Awami Juba League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) cadres went on rampage and vandalised windowpanes and furniture of the district Youth Development Directorate.
AL's social welfare secretary of Kashiani Upazila unit Sarafat Hossain Lavlu Mridha led the attack, said directorate official Sayad Uddin.
Sayad filed the case early Sunday naming nine members of AL, Juba League and BCL and 40 to 50 other unnamed activists.
Sayad told the news agency, "Mridha was agitated as his followers were not chosen as apprentices in the second shift of the national service programme."
