Govt planning separate pay scale for teachers: Nahid

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Wednesday informed Parliament that the government was planning to introduce separate pay-scale for teachers as they were building the future generation.
"New generation is the striking force of future development, and the makers of the new generation are the teachers," he said at a discussion on 2010-11 budget.
The minister also informed the house that the government had finalised the list of schools for monthly payment order (MPO).
"The number of schools is 1600 and their names will be announced today (Wednesday)," he said.
