Govt plans national healthcare database: Joy

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy Tuesday said the government will introduce a national healthcare database to facilitate better treatment for the common people.
“We want to introduce a national healthcare database. If the database is created all the systems of health records will easily be available to doctors,” he said.
Joy, the only son of the Prime Minister, came up with the disclosure while addressing the concluding ceremony of a two-day Regional Health Informative Conference organised by the Management Information Systems of Director General of Health Services at a city hotel, according to a news agency.
Mentioning that the government’s goal is to digitise all the government services in the next five years, Joy said the ICT Ministry is working for working out a cyber security plan to make data secure.
