Govt plans to launch pre-paid gas meters

The government is planning to launch pre-paid meters for gas, Energy Adviser Tapan Chowdhury said Wednesday. A project has been taken up for the purpose, the adviser said. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will design and supply the meters for the city in line with a deal with Dhaka Electricity Supply Authority (DESA). BUET will also assemble 5,000 meters under the agreement. - bdnews24.com
