Govt remains in power by force, alleges Dudu

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu on Sunday called upon the people to free the country from the clutches of the government.
"This government remains in power by force. The country should be freed from them (the government)," he said at a sit-in programme demanding release of party chairperson Khaleda Zia and its leader Aman Ullah Aman in front of the National Press Club.
Save the Country Save the People organised the event.
"They (the government) have captured the administration and law-enforcement agencies and judiciary and educational institutions and others," he stated.
He said that student leaders during 90's participated in anti-Ershad movement and ousted him from power.
"But now it is our duty to oust Sheikh Hasina from power," he maintained.
President of the Save the Country Save the People K M Raqibul Islam Ripon presided over the event which was also addressed by member secretary of Jatiyatabadi Matsya Dal Abdur Rahim and organising secretary of Muktijoddha Dal Mia Md Anwar were present, among others.
