An 11-member government team has gathered hands-on experience of the operation and management of open-pit coalmining in Germany and returned home Saturday with an upbeat note, said officials.
The team led by Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Subid Ali Bhuiyan visited coalmines at Cologne in Germany.
"We have gone through a wide range of issues including operation of a large open-pit coalmine, its overall management and the coal-based power plant at the mine mouth," said a member of the team.
The team members also enquired about water management, land reclamation and resettlement during their visit to Germany, said the official.
