Govt to amend Copy Right Act

The government has taken steps to amend the Copy Right Act 2006 to prevent production and exhibition of obscene films and stop video piracy.
Information Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury disclosed this Sunday while speaking at an inter-ministerial meeting, reports BSS.
He told the meeting that the Ministry of Cultural Affairs had already been requested to amend the Act with specific proposals.
He urged all to make their united efforts for development of the film industry in the country.
Video piracy and vulgarism could be removed from the film industry if the government and associations of film producers, directors and exhibitors work together, he mentioned.
