Govt to appoint administrator for FBCCI soon

The government might complete the procedures relating to appointment of an administrator for the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by today (Thursday).
The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) took such a decision on the appointment in principle Wednesday for running the apex chamber body as the tenure of the current executive committee expires today (Thursday).
Earlier, the tenure of the present FBCCI committee expired September 5 and the ministry of commerce extended it up to December 5.
The administrator will hand over the charge to the newly elected committee after the election.
The FBCCI election remained suspended following a stay order by the High Court (HC).
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) leaders filed a writ petition in the High Court when the names of BGMEA representatives were dropped from the final FBCCI voters' list.
