The government Thursday approved a proposal for purchasing 3,74,500 tonnes more fertiliser, and 1,18,000 tonnes of rice. The approval was given at a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Government Purchase, held in the conference room of the Cabinet Division with Finance Adviser AB Mirza Azizul Islam in the chair. The fertiliser will be procured to ensure a timely supply of the agro-inputs among the farmers. Of the total rice, the committee decided to purchase 93,000 tonnes of boiled rice, and 25,000 tonnes of 'atap' rice. — BSS
