Govt to compensate animal attack victims

The cabinet has approved a policy ensuring compensation for people killed or injured in attacks by wild animals. The Monday meeting led by prime minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, approved Tk 0.1 million to be paid to the dependents of people killed in an attack and Tk 50,000 each for those injured or maimed, PM's press secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters. The cabinet also decided to stop production of harmful Diclofenac Sodium, a pain killer, Azad added.
