Govt to construct flyover in Sylhet: Muhith

SYLHET, Dec 21 (BSS): Finance Minister AMA Muhith said today the government will construct flyovers in Sylhet in future to ease the movement of people.
"Flyovers have helped ease traffic jam in Dhaka and Chittagong and dwellers now face less traffic congestion . . . if traffic jam remains at a tolerable level it helps bring dynamism in the economy," said the finance minister while inaugurating a divider road at Sylhet's Rikabibazar here today.
He said the main aim of the present government is to ensure welfare of the people. The government's steps for the development of communication system and infrastructures have been appreciated by all, he said, adding that continuation of these efforts will help the country achieve progress fast.
The 55-feet width divider road has been constructed by Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) at a cost of Taka 4.02 crore at Rikabibazar. Expansion of this road - Freedom Fighter Dr Chanchal Road- will help ease traffic jam in Sylhet city.
