Sunday, 5 July 2015

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Sunday disclosed that the government has appointed 298 Homeo doctors at the district and upazila levels to develop an alternative medicine sector in the country.
He made the statement while speaking at a meeting with Homeopath, Unani and Ayurvedic Boards at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital.
He said that a number of Ayurvedic doctors had also been appointed in a number of government hospitals.
Nasim said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with India for transfer of technology in this sector.
At the same time, the minister cautioned against false claims made by fake alternative medical practitioners. He warned that the government would soon move against them.
Railway Minister Mujibul Huq, who is also the chairman of Bangladesh Unani and Ayurvedic Board, was present at the meeting.
