State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadeq told the parliament Tuesday that the government had taken initiative to formulate a law titled "Government Employee Act" as per the constitution for all government employees, reports BSS.
"As part of the administrative reform, the government has taken initiative to enact a law for all the government employees," she said while replying to a tabled question of treasury bench member AFM Bahauddin Nasim.
Ismat Ara said the government also formed a nine-member committee headed by additional secretary of public administration to prepare a final draft of the law. The committee has prepared an amended draft through scrutinising proposals/recommendations carefully in 7 meetings.
Meanwhile, the amended draft government employee act- 2014, was submitted to the cabinet committee on administrative development affairs for consideration and approval, she said.
Earlier, the present government initiated formulation of a civil service act to bring the management of government employees under a law as part of the government's election promise, the state minister added.
"It will be a milestone initiative by formulating a government employees' act as part of the administrative reform," she said.
