Govt to ensure all facilities for Mirerswari economic zone

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 28: LGRD Minister Tajul Islam said on Saturday, "Development of Chattogram means development of Bangladesh. So, the incumbent government is increasing the facilities to develop Chattogram. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very cordial for the development of the port city. All should work together about development of Chattogram."
He was addressing a discussion organised by Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) on Development and Industrialisation of Chattogram as the chief guest. The meeting was held at the Bangabandhu Hall of World Trade Centre (WTC) of the CCCI.
He said, "The government has many development plans for Bangabandhu Economic Zone at Mirerswari. Government will ensure gas, water and all other facilities for the Mirerswari economic zone in Chattogram."
He also said the government set a target to produce 85,000 MW of power by 2041.
The meeting was chaired by CCCI President Mahbubul Alam. Among others secretary of LGRD Ministry Helaluddin Ahamed, Chairman of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Pobon Chowdhury, Administrator of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Khorshed Alam Sujan, Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) Jahirul Alam Dovash, Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram A B M Azad, Managing Director of Chattogram WASA Engineer A K M Fazlulah, Member (Admn) of Chittagong Port Auithority (CPA) Jafar Alam and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Ilias Hossain addressed the meeting.
