Govt to ensure equal religious rights

SIRAJGANJ, Sept 25 (BSS): Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdul Latif Biswas has said the government is determined to ensure equal rights of all religions.
"All arrangements have been made to celebrate the 'Sharodio Durga Puja' in a peaceful manner across the country."
He said this Friday while addressing a function on the occasion of Durga Puja as the chief guest on Sugul Kishore Mandir premises.
The function was organised by Sirajganj district unit of World Hindu Federation.
The minister also distributed clothes among 600 members of Hindu families.
He said record amount of grants were made for every mandir (temple) to celebrate Durja Puja, one of the greatest religious festival of the Hindu community, across the country.
"The present government believes that there is no minority or majority in Bangladesh, the people of all faiths in this country have equal rights," Biswas said.
