Govt to face music if road march is obstructed: BNP
Sunday, 9 October 2011
BNP leader Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain Saturday said the government would expose its utter 'foolishness' if it tries to obstruct Monday's Dhaka-Sylhet road march to be led by Khaleda Zia, reports UNB.
He expressed the hope that the party in power would not take any recourse that might prove its political stupidity.
Mosharraf, who is the coordinator of the Dhaka-Sylhet road march, made the remarks while talking to the news agency over phone about the preparation being organised by the BNP-led four-party alliance.
The BNP leader said if the government puts obstructions to their peaceful and democratic programme they would remove the obstacles and steer the march towards its destination.
Asked if any counter-program would be given instantly if the road march is obstructed, he said it would depend on the given situation.
In reply to a question Mosharraf said a massive enthusiasm is being seen among leaders and workers of BNP and its front and associate organisations, and all are working closely to make the road march a complete success.
Mosharraf expressed the hope that stream of people would line-up on both sides of Dhaka - Sylhet route.
Khaleda would address six scheduled roadside rallies on way to Sylhet. The next day, she will address a public meeting in Sylhet city.
Mosharraf said he held a number of preparatory meetings over the road march with BNP leaders and workers and its front and associate organizations both in Dhaka and Sylhet. He also visited the spots of roadside meetings.
He held parleys with partners of the four-party alliance over the preparations of the road march.
Mosharraf said apart from components of the four-party alliance, like-minded political parties will join the march.
