Govt to form Edn Dev body at UZ, dist levels: Nahid

The government is planning to form Education Development Committee at upazila and district levels with a view to ensuring quality education in the country, reports UNB.
"The committee will be formed for the overall development of education sector, appointment of skilled teachers and running the governing bodies of schools and colleges," Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said Wednesday.
He was addressing a view-exchange meeting with divisional commissioners at his ministry in the city.
Nahid said the present government is constructing new academic buildings at 5,500 schools, colleges and madrasahs across the country.
Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Director General of the Directorate of Education, chairman of National Curriculum and Textbook Board, and chairmen of education boards among others, attended the meeting.
