Monday, 22 October 2018

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday warned that people will put up barricade on every street to give the government a befitting reply to its all misdeeds, reports UNB.
In a statement, he also said, "The government is trying to hang onto power resorting to evil acts, but it won't be able to avoid its fall as people's backs are pushed against the wall."
The statement was issued protesting and condemning the jailing of BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in a case filed under the ICT Act.
Fakhrul said Amir Khosru was sent to jail as part of an 'evil design' to frighten the country's people. "But, the government's such desire won't be fulfilled."
He said the arrest of their every leader is only inspiring the BNP leaders and activists to carry out a strong struggle against the government.
The BNP leader warned that the government's all efforts to cement its 'illegal power' will turn futile.
He said the government is suppressing opposition leaders and activists and those who hold different opinions indulging in the politics of vengeance. "The arrest of Amir Khosru Mahmud has exposed the government's political vengeance."
Fakhrul said the government is indiscriminately arresting BNP leaders and workers and filing 'fictitious' cases against them to hold the next polls unilaterally without voters.
He demanded the government immediately release Khosru from jail withdrawing the 'false' case filed against him.
Earlier in the day, a Chattogram court sent Amir Khosru to jail rejecting his bail petition in a case filed under the ICT Act.
