Govt to help expedite India-Bangladesh trade ties: Faruk

Commerce Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan said the present government is very much business friendly and would do everything possible to expedite trade ties between Bangladesh and India, reports BSS.
He made the remarks in a meeting with an Indian delegation, led by Mani Shankar Aiyar, former union minister of India and member of Rajya Sabha and Indian National Congress party, at his ministry Sunday.
The commerce minister said that the present Bangladesh government would address all the problems for enhancing trade relations between the two neighbouring countries.
The present grand alliance government is very much aware of para-tariff and non-tariff between Bangladesh and Indian trade, he said, adding that the government is actively working to remove all the barriers.
He informed the Indian delegation that his government wanted to remove all sorts of barriers that hinders trade between the two friendly countries.
Mani Shankar said that Indian North Eastern states want to enhance trade relations with Bangladesh. He said that they are happy over the existing trade ties between Bangladesh and the North eastern states of India, which are known as seven sisters.
