Govt to invest $20b in energy sector in 5 yrs

The government will invest US$20 billion for the development of the country's energy sector in next five years.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu said this while speaking at a seminar in the city on Tuesday, reports BSS.
"Out of that $10 billion will come from the foreign investors," he added.
At the same seminar, Prime Minister's Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Dr Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said that $5.2 billion were invested in the country's energy sector in the last five years while projects worth $8.5 billion are going on for the overall development of the sector.
Awami League sub-committee on publicity and publication organised the seminar titled "Alokito Bangladesh'.
