Govt to procure rock phosphate, MOP fertiliser

The government has approved separate proposals for procuring some 25,000 tonnes of rock phosphate and 40,000 tonnes of MOP fertiliser to meet the growing demand in the country.
The approvals came at the third meeting of the Advisers Council Committee meeting on Government Purchase held at the Finance Division Conference Room at the Secretariat on Tuesday, with Finance and Commerce Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair, reports BSS.
After the meeting, the adviser told reporters that following a proposal from the Ministry of Industries, some 25,000 tonnes of rock phosphate would be procured for Triple Super Phosphate Complex Limited.
Besides, in response to another proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, 40,000 tonnes of MOP fertiliser would be procured from Canadian Commercial Corporation under the fifth lot for Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC).
