Govt to promote 800 judicial officials

The government is set to promote around 800 officials of the Bangladesh Judicial Service, with 250 of them elevated to the rank of district judge - the highest number ever promoted at one time, according to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs officials.
The mass promotion follows the creation of 232 new posts in the judiciary, including those in the specialised tribunals to expedite cases related to family affairs, child rape, and land survey disputes, aimed at strengthening case management and overall judicial capacity.
As per the latest decision, about 300 officials are being promoted to additional district judges and another 250 to joint district judges.
