Govt to re-fix fare of cabs if people want: Quader

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader said Friday fare of taxicabs will be re-fixed if people express such a desire because the present government will not take any decision that will go against their interest. "A policy has been formulated for fixing taxicabs' fare and their operation . . . it is changeable because it is not a law," Quader told reporters after inaugurating the construction work of BRTA's new building in the city. He said the taxicabs, which are now plying the city streets, are in bad condition and these cabs have now become a risky transport for the city people.
