Govt to rename home villages of Birsreshthas, language martyrs

The caretaker government decided to rename the nine villages and one union of seven Birsreshthas and three language martyrs for their heroic deeds and struggles in 1971 and 1952, reports UNB
Under the same plan, a library and memorial museum will be established in each of the villages of the Birsreshthas and language martyrs through local district councils.
The government has allocated Tk 62.90 million for implementing the scheme.
Ramnagar, the village of Birsreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman, would be named Matiur Nagar in Narsingdi district.
Khordh Khalishpur, the village of Birsreshtha Sepoy Hamidur Rahman in Jhenidah, is being changed into Hamid Nagar.
Agarpur, the union of Birsreshtha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, will be turned into Jahangir Nagar in Barisal.
Birsreshtha sepoy Mostofa Kamal's village Moutupi in Bhola district will be renamed Mostofa Kamal Nagar.
Birsreshtha Ruhul Amin's village Bagpachra in Noakhali would be turned into Ruhul Amin Nagar.
