Govt to supply gas to power plants for generating 1,000MW

The government has decided to supply natural gas to power plants for generating 1,000MW electricity aimed at providing power to all citizens by 2021. After meeting the current demand for gas, the ministry decided to supply gas to power plants for smooth generation of power, according to an official of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. He said a meeting in this regard was held at the ministry's conference room Wednesday with adviser to the Prime Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikrom, in the chair. — BSS
