Govt to take measures to stop women, kids repression: Shirin

NOAKHALI, Aug 28 (BSS): The government will take all measures to stop repression of women and children in the country.
State Minister for Children and Women Affairs Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury Friday said this at a views exchange with government officials and local elite at the Circuit House in the district.
Effective steps would be taken to strengthen the existing women repression resistance cells, she said.
The state minister said the present alliance government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to establish democratic rule and institutionalise democracy in the country.
The government is pledge-bound to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the government, she said and added that the government is trying sincerely to improve law and order and resolve other problems.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner M Mizanur Rahman, the meeting was attended, among others, by senior government officials, eminent personalities, heads of educational institutions, district Awami League (AL) leaders and local journalists.
