Friday, 3 April 2009

The government will provide Tk 2.095 billion (209.50 crore) during the current fiscal year to purchase jute for the mills of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and to pay its outstanding bills, reports BSS.
Besides, the government will give BJMC a fund of Tk 5.1135 billion (511.35 crore) in 2009-2010 to purchase jute for 14 mills of the corporation, Textiles and Jute Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui told the House Thursday.
Replying to a question form the treasury bench member Talukdar M Towhid Jong (Murad), the minister said the government has also a plan to freeze all bank loans of the BJMC mills and earmark all losses of the corporation as 'business loss' considering it as an export organisation.
