Govt to turn primary level text books into multimedia books

The government has taken initiatives to turn the text books of primary school into multimedia books aimed at making those readable in computer, laptop, tablet and other handy devices, reports BSS.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division has launched a project titled "Transformation of Contents of Primary Level Education into Interactive Multimedia Digital Version" with a two-year implementation period (March 2014 to February 2016).
As part of the initiative, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Thursday between the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division and the Save the Children to make the English text books of class I to V into multimedia form.
The signing ceremony was held at the conference room of ICT Division. ICT Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan and Save the Children Senior Executive Advisor M Habibur Rahman inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Joint Secretary (Administration) of ICT Division Sushanta Kumar Saha, Project Director Md Aktar Hossain and Manager of ICT in Education of Save the Children were present.
"We're seeking support from the international organisations, bilateral and multilateral donor agencies to implement the project that aims to turn the text books of primary level into multimedia books and Save the Children has come up with cooperative mind to make our goal a success," said N I Khan at the signing ceremony.
