Govt trying to ensure congenial atmosphere for journalists: Azad

KHULNA, June 19 (BSS): Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad said the government is trying to ensure a congenial atmosphere for journalists so that they can perform their responsibility without hesitation.
"We are looking into the logical demands of the journalists community," he said at a function Saturday.
The information minister was speaking as the chief guest at a reception accorded to the students who got GPA-5 in the SSC and Dakhil examinations in 2010.
The function was organised by Khulna City Corporation (KCC). The function was presided over by KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque.
Azad mentioned that the implementation of 'Right to Information Act' would ensure free flow of information.
The information minister said students have to come forward to build a prosperous nation by utilising their merit and talents.
He said necessary fund would be allocated in the next financial year for constructing a modern Shilpakala Academy in Khulna.
