CHITTAGONG, Mar 15: Educationists and professionals today urged the government to find out a respectable solution to Nobel Laureate Dr Yunus issue. Representatives of professionals under the banner of 'Nobel Winner Yunus Associates in Chittagong' organised a press conference at Chittagong Press Club. Convenor of the organisation Professor Sikandar Khan in his written statement said the way the government has ousted Dr Yunus from Grameen Bank was not decent. They should come to a solution which is respectable for the Nobel Laureate. Prof Khan, who is also vice chancellor of East Delta University, warned the government that vested quarters were detracting people on the Yunus issue that leads to hostility and misunderstanding. They however declined to name the vested interest group. "We know that there are sensible men and women within the government who must come forward with initiatives," he said. They are going to create public opinion on the issue, he added. Prothom Alo resident editor Abul Momen, Chittagong Lawyers Association president Salehuddin Haider Siddiqui, freedom fighter Faruq-e-Azam and Mahfuzul Huq Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
