Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday told parliament that her government has a plan to lower the bank interest rates to a single digit, but it needs a consistency with the deposit rates. "A plan is there to bring down the bank interest rates to a single digit for which there’s a need to bring consistency with the deposit rates or lowering the deposit rates," she said. The Prime Minister said this replying to a supplementary question from ruling party MP Gazi Golam Dastagir (Narayanganj-1) during her scheduled question-answer session in the evening, according to a news agency.
