Govt weighs option of nulling university admission test

The admission-test system at the university level is to be abolished in phases by making the public examinations more standardised in future, a high-level government meeting expressed the hoped Tuesday, reports UNB.brThis ultimate option came into consideration at the meeting as the caretaker government took initiatives to assuage sufferings of students seeking admission to public universities of the country.brDuring the review meeting of the Education Ministry with vice-chancellors of 29 public universities and the University Grants Commission (UGC), a set of measures were worked out for the universities.br'The meeting elaborately discussed introducing a group-based integrated admission-test system in general, agriculture, medical, and science and technology universities,' said an official release.br
