LAXMIPUR, March 18 (BSS): Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said on Wednesday the government would never bow down to militancy as it is determined to carry out a stringent campaign to uproot the militants at any cost.
"We will rather sacrifice our lives, but will never bow down to militancy," he said speaking as chief guest at a rally organised by local Awami League at Motirhar High School ground in Kamolnagar upazila of the district.
The shipping minister said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, along with the Jamaat-e-Islami, was killing people with petrol bombs.
"She (Khaleda Zia) wants to go to power by killing people to save the war criminals," he added and urged the people to build resistance against militancy and terrorism across the country.
He urged Khaleda Zia to stop hartals, terrorism and militancy and warned that otherwise, she would have to face "dire consequences".
