Govt working relentlessly to ensure welfare of people: Dilip Barua

RANGPUR, June 6 (BSS): Industries Minister Dilip Barua Saturday said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build a developed and prosperous digital Bangladesh to ensure welfare of all citizens.
The minister said to attain the goals of improving people's living standards, the government has been putting maximum emphasis on massive industrialisation through various pragmatic initiatives to generate employment and utilise the human resources.
He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the newly built completely private sector factory Apple Ceramics (Pvt) Limited as the chief guest at Badarganj upazila township in Rangpur.
Alhaj Anisul Islam Mandal MP, owner of the newly launched Apple Ceramics (Pvt) Limited and also member of the Information Ministry Affairs Parliamentary Standing Committee, chaired the function on the factory premises.
Rangpur Sadar upazila chairman Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, Badarganj UNO Rezaul Alam Sarker, former MP Elahi Bakx, Badarganj upazila AL president Obaidul Haque Chowdhury, convener of Badarganj upazila Jatiyo Party Mofazzal Hossain Sarker and Executive Engineer of Rangpur LGED Enamul Haque were present.
Dilip Barua thanked Anisul Islam Mandal MP for setting up the industry in the economically backward area of Badarganj and congratulated him on behalf of the government and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the initiative.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina dreams an industrially developed Bangladesh and launching of this factory at Badarganj is definitely a pioneering step towards building a prosperous Bangladesh," he said.
The minister said the country needs massive industrialisation and use of latest technologies and the huge human resources for its desired development to change the fate of the people of the country especially of the neglected area like greater Rangpur.
Dilip Barua emphasized the need for exploring the prevailing huge potentials of small, cottage and medium industries and said the government has been giving special attention and importance to the increased growth in these industries.
He said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to building a non-communal and progressive nation to realize the dream of building Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister called upon all to cooperate with the government to establish a poverty- free 'Sonar Bangla' under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina through ensuring economic self- reliance of all citizens as dreamt by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The government has given special priority to expansion of small and cottage industries side by side with other industries as part of the programme of turning Bangladesh into a digital industrialized one by 2021, he said.
He said industrialisation is essential for creating jobs and the government will go for setting up more industries in the public and private sectors to fulfill Prime Minister's pre- election pledges of giving employment to a person from each family, he added.
In reply to a pledge of Anisul Islam Mandal MP, the minister
said that he would place the proposal of setting up a BSCIC Industrial Town at a place in between Rangpur and Syedpur and said "it would be set up if the cabinet approves."
