Labour and Employment and Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandakar Moshrraf Hossain Monday said, the present government was a labour-friendly government and was working relentlessly for ensuring overall welfare of the workers, reports BSS.

The minister said this when a five-member delegation of the International Trade Workers Garments and Leather Federation, led by its General Secretary Neil Kearney, called on him at his Secretariat office here.

The team members held a detailed discussion with the minister on various problems of workers serving in the garment industry and their skill development and minimum wages.

Terming the garment sector as the second highest foreign currency earner in the export trade, Mosharraf said, the government was working with firm determination to solve all its problems.

Neil Kearney lauded the Bangladeshi garment products and said, there was a bright prospect of Bangladesh in Asia for its garment industry.

The delegation members included Shajahan Khan, MP, and labour leaders ZM Kamrul Anam and Badruddoza Nizam.
