Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Wednesday said the government is yet to decide regarding opening of an office of the United Nations Human Rights (UNHR) in Dhaka, reports BSS.
"We are yet to decide … there was only a discussion … we are reviewing the matter," he told reporters after holding a meeting with visiting UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk at the Foreign Ministry in the city.
He said there was no formal proposal from the UN regarding opening its office here … but "Discussion has taken place".

During the second day of his two-day visit, Türk held several discussions on human rights issues, meeting with senior government officials, civil society representatives and other stakeholders.
The High Commissioner was scheduled to meet Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus before meeting the press in the evening.
