Govt yet to handover 144 plots of Rupnagar project

Government is yet to hand over some 144 residential plots of Rupnagar Housing Project at Mirpur in the city to its lawful owners, who have made payment of installments in full 14 years ago.
The plots owners warned that they would launch tougher agitation programmes, if the National Housing Authority (NHA) does not handover the plots to their legitimate owners immediately.
They also demanded recovery of all the 144 plots from illegal occupation by evicting occupants of some 650 shanties built on the site.
They issued the warning at a press conference under the banner of 'Rupnagar 11/B Block Plot Owners Welfare Association at the National Press Club Wednesday afternoon.
