Bangladesh has not made any formal request to India to bring back Nur Hossain, the prime suspect in Narayanganj 7 murders. A foreign ministry official, however, said that New Delhi assured Dhaka of the 'highest cooperation' if any assistance is sought in this regard. West Bengal police arrested Narayanganj City Corporation's Ward 4 councillor Nur Hossain, the main accused in the 7-murder case, with two accomplices last Saturday night. He was remanded in custody on charges under the Arms Act and Foreigners Act for illegal trespass into India's territory without valid travel documents and for illegal possession of a weapon. Junior home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Wednesday said India had officially informed them about the arrest through a note verbale. According to the note verbale New Delhi sent to Dhaka, informing it about the arrest of the absconding Narayanganj councillor from a flat in Baguihati near Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, the capital of India's West Bengal state, on June 14, report agencies.
