Govt's 3 years marked by fraud: Fakhrul

Friday, 6 January 2012

BNP has termed the last three years of ruling Awami League (AL) grand alliance as being marked by "deception" with the people, reports UNB.
Addressing a discussion and Dua Mahfil Thursday afternoon, BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the remarks saying that the last three years were "years of people's frustration".
Jatiyatabadi Shechchhasebok Dal, voluntary wing of BNP, organized the function marking the second death anniversary of Nazrul Islam, president of Shechchhasebok Dal of ward number 56 unit Dhaka city, who was killed on this day in 2009.
Shechchhasebok Dal president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel presided over the discussion at Paltan Community centre here.
Addressing the discussion Mirza Fakhrul said the government's three years are the years of 'burying democracy and pushing people to dark tunnel.'
Referring to Awami League leaders and ministers' claims of success, he said people will judge and count what they were supposed to get and what they have got.
Mentioning some failures of the government Mirza Fakhrul said price hike of essentials has hit the overall economy. He said prices of fuel oils were raised three to four times, that of gas 4 to 5 times while that of electricity four to five times by the government in last three years.
He said the party in power with slogan of charter of changes and 'vision 2021' had started its journey through shedding blood of democratic activist Nazrul.
Alamgir said the government's three years has also been marked by filing of cases against opposition leaders and workers, abduction, killings, repression and plundering.
