Govt\\\'s fall now a matter of time, says Fakhrul

Thursday, 18 December 2014

Charging the government with resorting to continued evil efforts to hang onto power, BNP spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Wednesday that the fall of this regime is now only a matter of time, reports UNB.
In a statement, Mirza Fakhrul said the dream of the current regime of annihilating the opposition by resorting to killings, enforced disappearances and other repressive acts will never be materialised.  "The fall of this regime is only a matter of time," he said.
The statement was issued condemning the killings of Mymensingh's Bhaluka upazila Sramik Dal leader Rafiqul Islam Bachchhu, his wife and two children.
Mirza Fakhrul, the BNP acting secretary general, said the 'illegal' government has created a dangerous chaotic situation in the country by killing opposition men, making them disappeared, abducting them and implicating them in "false" cases.
Mirza Fakhrul demanded of the government to immediately arrest those killed Rafiqul Islam and his family members and mete out punishment to them.
Meanwhile, BNP senior leader Abdullah Al Noman said Wednesday the country's people are now united to resist the current 'fascist regime' with brickbats and bamboo sticks, warning that the more there will be bloodshed the faster will be its fall.
Noman, a BNP vice chairman, came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion, titled 'Killing of Intellectuals in 1971: The Spirit of the Great Liberation War and Current Context', arranged by Bangladesh Youth Forum at the Jatiya Press Club.
