Govt's rice procurement progressing steadily in Nilphamari

Our CorrespondentbrNILPHAMARI, Sept 4 Government's rice procurement from the rice mills owners is still progressing steadily in Nilphamari district. Nilphamari district controller of food office sources said so far 18,000 metric tonnes of rice has been procured out of the total target of 27,000 metric tonnes in this BORO season. brSources added per kilogram procurement price of rice was 28 taka but in the meantime government has sanctioned 1.25 taka per kilogram as incentive bonus thus procurement price has reached up to 29.25 taka per kilogram of rice. brGovernment also increased the date of rice procurement up to 30 September 2008. District controller of food is expecting to fulfil the procurement target of BORO in the season as they have already attained 65 per cent.
