GP becomes BASIS Softexpo 2009 sponsor

Grameenphone (GP) Limited has become the key sponsor of the upcoming BASIS SoftExpo 2009.
In this connection, a sponsorship agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and the GP in the city Saturday, said a press release.
Director (Marketing) of GP Rubaba Dowla and President of the BASIS Habibullah N Karim signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release.
BASIS SoftExpo, the largest information and communication technology (ICT) event in the country, will be held between January 27 and January 31 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city.
More than 200 local and international companies are expected to take part in the upcoming event. There will also be several roundtable conferences and product display at the exposition.
The theme of this year's Softexpo is "Linking People with Technology and Branding Bangladesh as the Country with Immense Possibilities".
The BASIS Softexpo 2009 will showcase the huge potentials resources and skills available in Bangladesh.
The organisers has expressed the hope to attract local and foreign investors catering to expansion of outsourcing market in the Bangladeshi ICT sector; thus creating an opportunity for thousands of jobs.
The event also aims to educate people about the advantages of technology and its application in our day-to-day life, the release added.
