GP continues relief effort in cyclone-hit areas

Grameenphone (GP) completed the second phase of its relief activities in the cyclone-affected areas after completion of the first phase of its relief effort.
GP officials and members of the management team distributed relief materials at Morelganj in Bagerhat recently.
GP Director Human Resource Emad Ul Ameen, Administration and Project Director NKA Mobin and Deputy Director (Brands) Rubaba Dowla Matin led the team.
As part of the relief effort, a total of 7,000 family packs will be distributed gradually. Of them, 3,000 packs have already been distributed in Khulna and Barisal regions. The family pack contains 4.0 kg rice, 1.0 kg dal, 1.0 kg salt, 2.0 kg wheat/flour, ½ litre oil, six candles, 1 tin/carton biscuits and 1.0 kg flattened rice. A blanket and a saree/lungi have also been included in the family packs.
In addition, makeshift tents, made from GP's old billboard vinyl, were built and handed over to 400 families in Barguna.
GP has also set up donation boxes in 50 GP centres to collect donations from subscribers. The collection will continue until December 20 and will be donated to the Chief Advisor's Relief Fund.
