GP distributes relief among Aila-hit people

Grameenphone (GP) has started its relief operation in the Aila-affected Khulna, Patuakhali, Barguna, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts of the country, said a press release.
Under the programme, the GP in association with the local government and its NGO partners distributed family packs and set up mobile medical camps in the affected areas.
The company has a plan to distribute about 6000 family packs containing 3.0 kg rice, 1.0 kg lentil, 1.0 kg salt, 5.0 litre water, three packets of oral saline and one blister of water purification tablets in Barisal and Khulna divisions.
Besides, four medical teams will provide basic healthcare services at Sharankhola, Shyamnagar, Ashashoni and Dacope areas.
Temporary shelter (tent) made with GP used billboard wrappers will also be provided in those areas.
GP employees volunteered in distribution of relief along with NGO partners Shushilan and RDF, the release added.
