GP opens medical camp

Grameenphone (GP) Tuesday opened a medical camp near Kazipur Nouka Ghat of Sirajganj town for helping the local flood-affected people.
More than 2,000 people received free treatment and medicines for various waterborne diseases and other common post-flood diseases on the first day of the launching of the camp.
A number of doctors from Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, GP employees, volunteers from Shandhani and local rover scouts worked voluntarily in the camp.
The deputy commissioner and civil surgeon's office and members of the joint forces helped GP in establishing the camp.
GP Head of Rajshahi region Emon Kalyan Dutta and Head of Health, Safety and Environment Department Mohammad Shahnawaz were present during the inauguration of the camp.
Besides, a floating medical camp will also start operation in the same are today (Friday) to provide treatment to the marooned flood victims in the remote areas of Sirajganj.
Earlier, GP opened a medical camp and a floating medical camp at the city's flood-affected Badda area. So far some 6,000 people have received medical support from these camps.
