Wednesday, 12 September 2007

Grameenphone (GP) has appointed Anders Jensen as the company's new chief executive officer (CEO). He succeeds Erik Aas, who is set to leave the company on October 1, GP said in a statement Tuesday. Jensen will be the first non-Norwegian heading the GP since its inception in 1997. It will also be the first placement in Asia for the 38-year-old Swedish father of four. Jensen was Telenor Sweden's chief marketing officer and head of Consumer Market since 2005. He has eight years of experience in the internet and telecommunications industry with Europolitan, Vodafone and Telenor. —bdnews24.com
